Leighton Buzzard Narrow Gauge Railway’s upcoming Diesel Gala next month will also feature a hint of steam.
The Bedfordshire-based railway will showcase its impressive collections of two-foot gauge heritage diesel locomotives on Monday, 27th May.
The event will feature nine diesel locomotives pulling a mix of passenger and freight services across the line’s demanding gradients. Spectators will have the choice of nine passenger and six freight departures throughout the day, including rare double- and triple-headed trains.

For the first time in over a decade, several locomotives will return to the LBNGR mainline, offering unique photo opportunities with train configurations never before seen by the public.
The full timetable has not yet been revealed but will soon be available on the LBNGR website and social media platforms.
Plus, there’s something for steam enthusiasts too. The meticulously restored Kerr Stuart 0-4-0 Wren-class ‘Peter Pan’ from 1922 will be steaming through the line, possibly accompanied by another special engine, details of which will be confirmed closer to the event date.
Tickets are available for purchase online at www.buzzrail.uk. A souvenir timetable is included with each ticket, and a 50% discount is offered on a second journey when you return your first ticket to the booking office.
